Comments
The Monument Course offers beauty and challenge and is thoroughly enjoyable to play. The desert frequently comes into play, but the course is not a target course. Hole #14, a 604-yard, par 5, was voted one of "The Best 18 Holes You Can Play" by "Golf Digest" in 1997. On this hole your tee shot must carry over a dry desert wash and a stretch of desert.
"Golf Digest" rated this course as the #1 "Best Public Course" in the state for 1996. "GOLFWEEK" selected the course 22nd in the category of "Americas 100 Best Modern Courses" for 1997, 26th for 1998 and 36th for 1999.
The Monument Course, a Jay Morrish-Tom Weiskopf design at the foot of Pinnacle Peak, is a brilliant test of golf, with surprisingly large turfed areas around the greens, and all of it in meticulous condition.
New course renovations by original designer and British Open Champion, Tom Weiskopf, created a new layout with improved playability! Revovations were completed in October of 2007.
